From The Studio
It has been a dream come true to have a studio space to go to and create. The days that I plan to go after work are excruciatingly long and I can't wait to get in there and just play around. At this point, I'm literally trying to channel my inner child and just play with the materials I have on hand, though I can begin to feel the tug of conceptual ideas and the intentional decisions of what materials use, space to display, and purpose to make.
I think what has been most challenging for me is to create my own routine of being in the studio and what my own process of making will be. I have always been one to explore how other artists make (I've watched the Bruce Nauman Art 21 segment about 100 times), but I'm realizing that is their process that is unique to them and their art interests. I want to create my own art from my own art interests and I want to do so with my own art making process. I think it's going well the few times I've been in there.
Here are a few images of what I've made so far made from various wood materials and uncut stained glass.
